Welcome to fightforheating.com

Welcome to Fight For Heating. A campaign Website for Heating Allowance for people with Disabilities, long-term illnesses and for parents of children who have disabilities or illnesses, and have to stay at home, or work low hours to care and provide support for their children.

The government has pledged to take vulnerable households out of fuel poverty by 2010. Fuel poverty is defined as a household having to spend more than 10% of its income on fuel bills to heat the home to an acceptable level. If you're not working due to an illness or disability, or you are working with a low income due to an illness or disability, how can YOU afford to keep warm this winter?

Heating allowance has been awarded to people over the age of 60. This is fantastic and no-one wants to see this taken away. If your life has been changed through a disability or long-term illness and you are under 60 then we should have the same rights. It has to change.
